BILL DRISKILL RIDES 6 TO 8 HRS. A DAY, 5 DAYS A WK
Dear Mr Brown:
I just wanted to let you know how much I am enjoying the Corrector Pad I recently purchased from you.
I am a 65 yr old man weighing about 230# and ride my mule squirrel hunting during the winter months about 5 days a week, usually between 6 & 8 hours a day. I have had problems mounting because the saddle wanted to pull down and my mule had trouble holding the saddle. Also, with such long rides I have always experienced my mounts would get sore and the saddle would slide forward as we go up and down a lot following dogs through the woods. My Mules would get girth sores, some bad enough I would have to give them a rest to heal.
When I talked to you about purchasing the Corrector Pad I could not believe it would make such a difference. I have been riding my Mule since December 1, 2011 hunting the days and hours I mentioned. I have not had any sore spots and the saddle stays where I put it. It has not moved forward an inch at the end of the day.
Even when removing the saddle the pad stays on the mule until I remove it. I can mount and dismount and the saddle stays put. I have made it a practice to check my mule's back after riding for dry spots and if he was getting sore. I have ridden a lot of different saddles and have never had one that eventually would not leave dry spots with white hair if you ride long enough. I have had no such problem when using the Corrector Pad.
I am using 2 inserts in front on each side and 2 on each side in the back. I have also had a previous problem with pain in my right hip after long rides. Since using this pad the pain is gone. I can't figure that one out; except maybe the better balanced saddle makes my riding balance more comfortable.
I am extremely happy with my purchase of the Corrector Pad and would recommend it to anyone who rides, especially a mule, since they all have the problem of the saddle moving forward & giving them a tendency to get girth sores. They will not have that problem with the Corrector Pad.
Thank you for making a product that really works as advertised. Sincerely, Bill Driskill

Len, As I indicated you can use my picture as you wish. I weigh about 280 pounds. No, you did not send the black severe duty front shields in my Corrector. We were out this past weekend riding in the hills of SE Minnesota. I rode Saturday moring with only one front shim on each side, the saddle did not stay back as well as with the two front shims on each side. The rest of the weekend I rode with 2 front shims on each side, that seemed to work best. As I said before, I use no rear shims, Buckaroo was well behaved all weekend, no trotting downhill, no head tossing, he seemed very happy. It was cool so he didn't sweat much at all.
A Happy Customer, Jon Olson
Hello Len, Last spring I had you work my TIMBERLINE Flex saddle, which is a spinoff of the Ortho-Flex saddle. In fact I had used this saddle for a period of 2 years Prior to this. At the time I didn't know it was hurting my mule's back.
As a result it was putting severe sores in-bedded in her back which she still lives with. Len said some screws had worked lose which holds on the delrin panels and were grinding into my mules back. Thanks to Len Brown and the reconstruction of the saddle and the Corrector Pad, the lumps haven't gotten any worse and maybe have improved some!
I rode her all summer and at this point feel very confident I can ride her without feeling like I am hurting her. Thanks, Len..... Stephen Jansing 12-22-2008
From Nancy that owns the Mule & Timberline Saddle shown below: Hi Len, I got the saddle and Corrector Pad on Friday. I got to try it for a while on Sat. I can already tell she is much happier wth the saddle and pad. She was much less confrontational-- ears forward and really moving out! I will keep you posted. Thanks again for everything, Nancy
What saddle makers don't understand is that a mules back comes up at a walk about 1 inch. At a trot or Gait, add another 1/2" or more. If your mules back is straight to start with, it's really rounded when you're riding. Straight MULE BARS aren't concave underneath front to rear. That's what it would take to make that saddle work on your MULE, & THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT THE CORRECTOR DOES! IT TAKES 2 OR 3 BALANCE SHIMS EACH SIDE IN FRONT AND 2 ON EACH SIDE IN THE REAR. They ride on top of the molded plastic shields and WORK LIKE A WEDGE UNDER A ROCKING CHAIR! ( just balance yourself in the saddle with a few tries using the front shims, then while riding, reach up under the rear of your tree bars to see if you or someone else can get their finger up to the knuckles. If so, add the 2 rear shims on each at the rear and let your mule bring his back up.)
A very happy mule rider sent this picture.

Hi Len, thank you for the fast shipping on the new contoured envelope pad.
I told you that we were very happy with the CorrecTOR AS WE USE IT ON OUIT 4 MULES TO HELP WITH SADDLE FIT. All our mules are different shpes and sizes and your product helps us have comfortable and happy mules. We trail ride lots and living in South Dakota we have hills and lots of ups and downs. We try to get to either the SD Black Hills or ND Badlands at least one time each summer and this year we went to the NEMO area in SD. The mules did many miles and no sores of any kind and they were happy to hit the trail every day.
In the pictures you can see the older Envelope pads. I trimmed them rounded and we really like the new Contoured E pad. Mules are kinda short backed and the rounder cut works better on them. We do have a couple of Mule saddles , but the CorrecTOR makes them work better too, and my Hubby can ride his favorite horse saddle on the mule with this system. We still use a crupper or britchen in very steep terrain, as mules do not have much wither and it is just safer, we think.
I am sure we will be ordering another CorrecTOR from you before too long! Thanks again!!! Dorothy Raaf Strandburg, SD
Len, Thanks for the quick shipment and most of all thanks for making a product that enables me to ride my Foxtrotter, Walking horse, and my MULE using the same saddle!
